Every Blackbird model is carefully braced to provide a tight bottom end bass note and clear rich high spectrum resonance. We have bound each model in vintage ivory ABS materials to provide the look of Bakelite from the 40’s, and though this won’t affect the sound, it certainly helps give provenance to the historic look our design team wished to capture, and to our mind, they have done a wonderful job. We have both traditional acoustic models and stage ready electro acoustic versions available, all featuring the outstanding new Tanglewood Premium Plus Eq system as standard equipment. We are certain, this brand new Winterleaf model is going to be a future Tanglewood classic. We’ve created our own stylish dreadnought shape, as seen on instruments played by Neil Young, Paul Simon and Jimmy Page to name but three legends, and added a contemporary cutaway for upper fretboard access. To give the guitar a unique voice, we’ve fitted a premium African Mahogany top, cut from Solid Timbers to give the warmest of tones and an instant impact for the player. We absolutely love this guitars sound, and are really pleased with the way they perform, as we’re sure you’ll be too! We fit Grover machines for optimum tuning, A Premium Plus EQ system for live and studio capabilities, and finish the instrument in a stunning high gloss finish that we’ve christened Autumn Vintage Burst. We’ve long pioneered the practise of sustainable forestry in the pursuit of our art and for this latest Roadster series we match finely graded Canadian Spruce tops with traditional Indonesian mahogany back and sides to produce tonally rich instruments that sound instantly wonderful tuned up right out of the box. We call them Roadster because to us, their cosmetic appeal evokes a sense of being close to nature… just as driving a classic open top car with the wind in your hair! Our luthiers have to work especially hard in creating this look, finishing the smooth edging joins of the body very carefully because there is no binding added to the body of these models, therefore no margin for error. Every Blackbird model is carefully braced to provide a tight bottom end bass note and clear rich high spectrum resonance. We have bound each model in vintage ivory ABS materials to provide the look of Bakelite from the 40’s, and though this won’t affect the sound, it certainly helps give provenance to the historic look our design team wished to capture, and to our mind, they have done a wonderful job. We have both traditional acoustic models and stage ready electro acoustic versions available, all featuring the outstanding new Tanglewood Premium Plus Eq system as standard equipment.
