Jarrod Elks

Born in Northampton, Jarrod Elks is a guitarist who now lives in Brighton and performs jazz & fingerstyle around the country. His acoustic guitar is a Tanglewood Roadster which is often mistaken for being a real vintage – thanks to how much practice and work it has been put through over a decade. Jarrod has a deep love for fingerstyle, taking influence from Merle Travis, Chet Atkins and Tommy Emmanuel, to name just a few.

His other passion is for Manouche Jazz, a style began by Django Reinhardt, Stephane Grappelli and the Quintette du Hot Club of France, founded in 1934.

Famous session bassist Herbie Flowers featured Jarrod in 2022 as a special guest at his renowned Sunday morning session known as “Herbie’s Jazz Breakfast”.

Jarrod regularly performs with the Benoit Viellefon Hot Club alongside a wide plethora of top tier jazz musicians at venues such as the first and famous UK jazz venue Ronnie Scott’s.

Jarrod is also the author of “The Jarrod Elks Travis-Picking Method – A Complete Step-by-Step Guide for Beginners”. For further info on the book and to purchase please contact Jarrod directly on the email linked below.
