Craig Gould

Craig uses the TW45DLX-FPP Sundance Pro and the TWJFE Java Series Acoustic Guitars

“I bought my first Tanglewood Guitar in Stoke back in 2002. A TW45N-NS. I couldn’t put it down in the shop. The feel of the fretboard, the finish of the body, the sound of the guitar. It drew me in. It was as if it had been made specifically for me. I’ve never looked back since that day.”

Singer. Songwriter. Storyteller. Campaigner. Half Irish, Quarter Welsh, Quarter English, All Human. Mental health awareness campaigner Craig Gould combines his “Beautiful songwriting” (Simon Fowler, Ocean Colour Scene) and “Powerful voice” (Mark Chadwick, Levellers) to entwine his listeners within his “Wonderfully crafted tales” (BBC Introducing)

The power of music should never be underestimated. During recovery from his own severe mental health illness, Craig turned to his guitar and began to write songs that would lead him through his own journey of self understanding, acceptance and eventually, positive change. This process laid the framework for his inspirational music project – taking those songs written in dark times to offer help to those in need. Working in partnership with the UK based mental health charity Campaign Against Living Miserably – CALM – Craig donates all sales/streaming profits from his debut solo album releases to them to provide care and support for those who are in desperate need.

Craig’s unique songwriting and musicianship has seen bloggers & critics from around the world draw comparisons with songwriting royalty such as Fleetwood Mac, Cat Stevens, Billy Joel and Leonard Cohen. With the first 3 singles from his highly anticipated debut album Songs from the Campfire (due for release late 2022) all releasing to critical acclaim, the midlands based Folk/Americana singer has been heralded as “One to Watch in 2022” alongside artists such as Holly Humberstone by MusicNewsMonthly, as well as achieving the #1 spot in the Amazon Folk Chart with his single “Captain of the Seas”

With all three of Craig’s single releases receiving “Single of the Week” accolades from the likes of BBC Radio Kent, The British Country Music Association, Modern Age Music and MusicAndTourNews, Craig took his celebrated sound on the road in 2022 as he announced his first headline UK tour, playing packed-out shows in Liverpool, London and Birmingham, whilst his music obtained support from various BBC Radio Shows, Amazing Radio UK & US, and established UK Folk/Americana Radio shows such as The Folk Pilot, What The Folk is That?, and Leader’s American Pie.

With a career that has already seen him take the stage at some of the UK’s most loved venues (Birmingham Symphony Hall, Islington Academy, Liverpool Cavern Club, Camden Barfly) and lauded festivals (Bearded Theory, Solfest, Timber Festival), supporting huge UK artists such as Levellers, Ocean Colour Scene, Example, Flogging Molly, Maximo Park, The Rifles & Brian Downey of Thin Lizzy, it’s easy to understand why his debut album release “Songs from the Campfire” is being met with such excitement and enthusiasm.
