Alt-Country/Americana artist, Stan Smith originates from Liverpool’s South Bank (The Wirral) and played at folk clubs and bars all across the country as a solo performer before meeting his wife Ann in 2011, moving to York and forming Mulholland.
Originally a five-piece, the band released their first album Ghost & Shadows in 2014 before slimming down to a duo and releasing North Country in 2016. Both albums have had great reviews and the songs performed live get a great response.
Mulholland bring their own take on acoustic rootsy Americana with their close harmonies and well-crafted, bittersweet songs. Their influences reach back to the heyday of singer songwriters in the 60/70s and they have firmly established themselves as part of the North Yorkshire music scene. They have been busy performing regularly with gigs all over the UK and, amongst others, they have supported Cale Tyson [USA], Charlie Parr [USA] and The Hot Seats [USA].
