New York-based guitarist Jakob Reinhardt is currently on a year-long tour playing guitar for the five-time Tony Award-winning Broadway show ‘Fun Home’. At 24 years old, he is on his second Broadway tour, having previously played guitar for the Tony-nominated show ‘A Night With Janis Joplin’. His solo album ‘Songs From Coastal Cities’ showcases his unique voice as an instrumentalist, drawing inspiration from American blues, French gypsy jazz, and German traditional music.
Born in the Black Forest of Germany, Jakob moved to the US to study Guitar Performance at Berklee College Of Music, from which he graduated summa cum laude in 2015. Since then, he has worked with ‘Riverdance’ composer Bill Whelan, theatrical composers Laurence O’Keefe and Paul Gordon, the Hasty Pudding Theatricals, as well as on two Broadway tours throughout the United States.
In addition, Jakob has performed and lectured at the Ullapool Guitar Festival in Scotland. As a composer, he wrote music for two productions at Boston’s Calderwood Pavilion. His compositions have been featured in multiple showcases at the New York Musical Theater Festival and served as underscore in ‘A Night With Janis Joplin’. As a music copyist, he has been working on Paul Gordon’s new show, ‘Death: The Musical’. He will be touring with ’Fun Home’ throughout the year.
